The annual Saint Barbara's Festival is an integral part of the annual Goldfields events calendar, solidifying the great partnership that exists between the mining industry and the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community.
This year marks the Festival’s 20th, and is sure to be a great way for locals to come together and celebrate living in Australia’s largest regional outback city!
6:30pm Thursday 28 November, Saint Barbara’s Square on Hannan Street Kalgoorlie.
The Miners Memorial Service is held to honour the men and women who have lost their lives servicing the mining industry over the past century. It is attended by family members, mine management and mines rescue personnel, however members of the public are welcome to pay their respects and lay floral tributes if they wish. A symbolic miner’s lamp will be lit to signify the beginning of the Festival.
11:00am Sunday 1 December, Hannan Street Kalgoorlie.
Undoubtedly the showcase of the Festival, the Street Parade is a fun-filled extravaganza for the whole family. Thousands gather to watch enormous pieces of mining equipment rumble down historical Hannan Street, along with community organisations, schools, animals, prospectors and mines rescue demonstrations - you might even catch a glimpse of a Christmas elf! There will also be plenty of pre-parade activities happening in Saint Barbara’s Square on the day.
