The annual St Barbara's Festival is an integral part of the annual Goldfields events calendar, solidifying the great partnership that exists between the mining industry and the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community.

Supported by KCGM, Northern Star Resources, Gold Fields, SMS Mining Services, Saracen Mineral Holdings, Norton Gold Fields and Evolution Mining, this year’s Festival marks the 20th anniversary, and is sure to be a great way for locals to come together and celebrate living in Australia’s largest regional outback city!

This year the Gold Industry Group will also bring West Coast Fever to the festival, with the State’s sporting superstars to join the GIG atop a gargantuan parade float.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

Miner’s Memorial
6:30pm Thursday 28 November
Saint Barbara’s Square on Hannan Street, Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
The Miners Memorial Service is held to honour the men and women who have lost their lives servicing the mining industry over the past century. It is attended by family members, mine management and mines rescue personnel, however members of the public are welcome to pay their respects and lay floral tributes if they wish. A symbolic miner’s lamp will be lit to signify the beginning of the Festival.

Street Parade
11:00am Sunday 1 December
Hannan Street, Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Undoubtedly the showcase of the Festival, the annual Street Parade is a fun-filled extravaganza for the whole family. Thousands gather to watch enormous pieces of mining equipment rumble down historical Hannan Street, such as the KCGM 793C haul truck, along with community organisations, schools, animals, prospectors and mines rescue demonstrations - you might even catch a glimpse of a Christmas elf! There will also be plenty of pre-parade activities happening in Saint Barbara’s Square on the day.
