Held at The Westin in Perth on Saturday 24 August, LIVIN WA’s ‘unmasked’ gala saw hundreds of supporters don their black tie best and join the LIVINWell movement.
The ‘unmasked’ theme symbolised removing the mask which those who suffer from a mental health challenge wear in order to cover their true feelings and hide what they are going through because of the stigma attached to mental illness. Attendees were encouraged to participate in open and honest conversations about mental health in an effort to break the stigma and spread LIVIN’s mantra ‘It Aint Weak to Speak’.
A silent ballot with a variety of donated prize packs and experiences, further encouraged those present to help raise funds for LIVIN, in order to continue their awareness campaigns and deliver the popular LIVINWell program to more schools, community groups and workplaces across Australia.
The Gold Industry Group’s partnership with LIVIN began in 2017, and since then has seen the LIVINWell program delivered to a multitude of head offices and gold mines around the nation. Sponsorship of the 2019 charity ball follows the success of the GIG LIVIN Tour, which took place earlier in 2019, and included more than 50 workshops across Australia and a free community event in Western Australia’s Goldfields.
