The WASM Wombats and WASM Wallabies competed in 40th Intercollegiate Mining Competition at the Camborne School of Mines in England over the weekend, with the WASM Wombats Women's team winning for the first time in Mining Games history.

Commonly known as the Mining Games, the competition was established in 1978 in memory of the 1972 Sunshine Mine disaster in Idaho. The annual event honours the fallen miners from around the world and highlights the need for a continued focus on protecting the lives of every person working in mining.
