The Gold Industry Group recently welcomed its newest member, Bellevue Gold Limited, who have set a shining example in the sector for companies championing diversity and inclusion.

Leading the way in gender equality, Bellevue proudly have a 0% gender pay gap on like for like roles, supporting all their employees equally. The Company’s Diversity Policy also offers paid primary carer’s leave for male and female new parents and flexible work arrangements (including part-time and job-sharing options).

Bellevue Gold also currently has 37.5% female employee participation as at December 2020 (up from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s 17% average for the Western Australian mining industry), along with 40% female representation on their Board of Directors (up from the WGEA’s 20% average).

“The Bellevue Gold Project is so exciting and the company values people of all walks of life and takes a serious, active and genuine approach to ensuring diversity in the workplace,” said Leah, Geology Superintendent.

Further, Bellevue offer a 12-week Indigenous Employment Training Program, as part of their partnership with the Clontarf Foundation.

The Company have extended this commitment to diversity and inclusion into the local community, by throwing their support behind the Nyunnga-Gu Women’s Group in Leonora.

The Nyunnga-Gu (meaning “Women Belonging Too”) Group has been supporting the Leonora community for more than four years, and continues to go from strength to strength, creating opportunities for women of all backgrounds to learn new skills and have fun. It provides a place for women to come together, support one another and discuss community-related issues.

Bellevue is also passionate about educating the next generation, having partnered with 28 Villages to provide meals weekly to Leonora District High School students as part of the school’s Meals Program, in conjunction with WA Police. Recent studies and feedback from local police officers have shown students who have access to regular meals increase their school attendance and curb anti-social behaviour.

As a new Gold Industry Group member, Bellevue employees are now set to join the National Gold Education Program as passionate Gold Class Facilitators, delivering fun, free STEM activities to regional primary and secondary schools from Term 1 2021.

“Bellevue is stepping up to positively impact gender equality in the mining industry, providing the tools to create a place of belonging and inclusion which I’m proud to be a part of,” said Natalia Brunacci, Regional Exploration Manager.

Bellevue job vacancies will also be available to view and apply for shortly, via the new Gold Jobs website.
