Shooting Stars Year 11 and 12 leaders gave back to the community as part of the annual Senior Leadership Camp program thanks to the support of Premier Partner, the Gold Industry Group.
While on the camp in May, 16 participants identified a small project that would improve their school, their community or Shooting Stars.

A powerhouse panel of five leading industry businesswomen shared their insights on Indigenous Relations to a sold-out crowd at the Western Australian Mining Club’s luncheon last month, emphasizing the need for visible role models and a dedicated business council.
It was the Club’s first in-person event to be held since February 2020 due to the State’s COVID-19 restrictions, and was also live-streamed to interstate and international viewers unable to travel into WA.
In 2020, the theme for National Reconciliation Week in Australia is #InThisTogether, and it is with this same spirit the Gold Industry Group is proud to work side by side with netball across Western Australia to improve the lives of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders across the State.
Through various programs and initiatives of Netball WA, West Coast Fever and Shooting Stars, we are driving generational change and equality for female leaders.
Two Shooting Stars’ participants and trainees are celebrating this month, after successfully completing their Certificate III in Sport and Recreation whilst living and working in their own regional Western Australian communities.
As Shooting Stars’ Premier Partner, the Gold Industry Group has been working with the charity to improve the lives of indigenous girls in WA since announcing their landmark agreement with netball in April 2019.
Ten Indigenous girls from the Gold Industry Group backed Shooting Stars education program were rewarded for their achievements this month, taking part in an action-packed leadership camp in Perth.
A wide variety of activities were in store for the girls, who range from year 9 to 12 and hail from regional communities as far flung as Carnarvon, Mullewa, Meekatharra, Narrogin and Leonora.
