Each year the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder hold a celebration in honour of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners, and the mining industry’s contribution to the state’s heritage, economy and community.

In 2018, the festival pulled out all stops, making it bigger and better than ever before, as the City marked 125 years since gold was first discovered by Paddy Hannan, Thomas Flanagan and Dan O’Shea in 1893.
