The largest and most influential gender diversity event on the mining industry calendar, the Gold Industry Group's annual Women in Gold Great Diversity Debate, explored whether a diversity debate that begins and ends with gender is doomed to fail.

Panellists Raleigh Finlayson, Stacey Marinkovich, Tashana Jones and Matthew Popham pulled out all the stops in their strongly contested debate, at the first of three events in the 2019 National Tour - with Sydney and Melbourne debates to be held the following week.

Hosted in conjunction with Women in Mining WA and sponsored by Gold Fields, The Perth Mint, Saracen Mineral Holdings, ABC Refinery, Ramelius Resources, Independence Group, Swick Mining Services, Newmont Goldcorp Australia, AngloGold Ashanti Australia, Regis Resources and Northern Star Resources, the topical discussion was held in front of more than 300 guests on Friday 8 November at the historic Perth Mint.
