Local Voices is a project developed by CSIRO and run in collaboration with research group Voconiq, to provide an opportunity for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community to give KCGM feedback and share ideas.

KCGM General Manager Kous Kirsten said the survey had been structured to collate community concerns in response to COVID-19, equipping KCGM and local groups to better respond to the crisis.

“We understand the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community and local businesses are experiencing unprecedented and extremely difficult circumstances as a result of COVID-19.

“As a small gesture, KCGM, in partnership with Voconiq, are doubling donations local community groups can receive for every completed Local Voices survey this quarter.

“Every completed survey is worth $10 in donations, directly supporting local groups who are facing unique challenges during this tough time.

“Local Voices is an ongoing community engagement initiative for KCGM, helping our business to better understand and respond to community sentiment relating to KCGM’s operations,” said Mr Kirsten.

Over 400 community members have taken part in the 2019 KCGM Local Voices Anchor Survey, raising over $8000 in donations for 48 local community groups. This is anticipated to grow through each quarterly pulse survey in 2020.

Community members can access the pulse survey and register to participate in Local Voices through KCGM’s social media and via voconiq.com/localvoices.

A summary of the 2019 Anchor Survey results is also available to community members and local stakeholders through the Local Voices website.

KCGM is committed to using community insights in their decision-making, to be better informed on the things that matter most to their local community.
