AusIMM have announced in 2024 their International Women’s Day event series will return, marking its sixth year from February 29 to March 8 in five major Australian cities.

Renowned as Australia’s largest mining-related event, it pays tribute to the remarkable contributions of women in the resources sector. Having attracted 2,500 attendees in 2023, the 2024 series is set to expand in both stature and attendance.

Centered around the theme 'driving positive change together', the series underscores the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the resources industry, advocating for workplaces that welcome everyone.

Participants will be treated to a two-course lunch, opportunities to network with industry professionals, and insights from five empowering keynote speakers:

  • Claire Parkinson: "Prison officer to mining executive: A story of resilience" – presenting in Adelaide on Thursday, February 29.

  • Marlee Silva: "A Gamilaroi and Dunghutti woman: Changemaker and storyteller" – speaking in Sydney on Friday, March 1.

  • Jelena Dokic: "Former World number 4 tennis player, Commentator, two-times best-selling Author and Speaker" – appearing in Brisbane on Tuesday, March 5.

  • Dr. Kylie Moore-Gilbert: "Falsely detained Iranian prisoner: The price of freedom" – sharing her experiences in Melbourne on Wednesday, March 6.
