The Gold Industry Group and LIVIN are set to embark on their third national tour in August, to empower students across Australia to speak up and provide much needed practical tools on mental health through more than 80 relatable workshops.
Approximately one in two Australians experience mental ill health over the course of their lifetime and research suggests that less than 50% of people experiencing mental ill health will access professional support.
Mental health is just as important as physical health, and there has never been a year in our lifetimes when this is more vital than now. The Gold Industry Group’s community partner, mental health charity LIVIN, have adapted to the impacts of COVID-19 by now providing their essential mental health support program online.
As proud Platinum Sponsor of LIVIN WA’s annual charity ball, the Gold Industry Group joined representatives from Newmont Goldcorp Australia, Gold Fields, Newcrest Mining and Gold Road Resources to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
The ‘unmasked’ theme encouraged the hundreds of attendees to break the stigma around mental illness.
The Gold Industry Group in partnership with not-for-profit LIVIN will commence a national tour next month to bring LIVINWell workshops to member offices, mine sites, schools and the wider community across Australia, in an effort to help break the stigma traditionally associated with mental illness.
