Gold Fields Australia’s Agnew Hybrid Renewable Project with EDL has been nominated for this year’s Golden Gecko Award while AngloGold Ashanti Australia and Barminco’s Dandjoo Darbalung Program with St Catherine's College, IGO and Sandfire Resources is in the running for the Community Partnership Resources Sector Award.

New geological field guide to Kalgoorlie launched

A new geological field guide to Kalgoorlie and surrounds, produced by Earth Science Western Australia, John Bunting and Peter Muhling; was launched Tuesday 19 March at the Australian Resources Research Centre.

A Geological Field Guide to Kalgoorlie and Surrounds, is the third of its kind in Western Australia, with previous books showcasing Perth and surrounds and the Capes region of the Southwest respectively.

KCGM's community contributions recognised

In its commitment to enhance the development of communities in which its employees live and work, KCGM’s Community Investment Program contributed funding to over thirteen local charities and organisations in 2018.

Totalling more than $450,000, the funds were distributed through supporting sustainable long-term community initiatives and as one-off donations to help charitable organisations, sporting associations, and community events.

Northern Star Resources, KCGM and Newmont Boddington Gold were all finalists in the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) 2017 Community Partnership Awards for successfully forming meaningful relationships and enduring outcomes for communities. 

Insights from these programs were shared at the 2017 Awards for Excellence seminar late last year and are now available online.
