This year’s Resources Technology Showcase (RTS) 2021 saw more than 8,000 students, teachers and community members blaze through the whirlwind two-day exhibition, showcasing the latest technology and innovation driving the resources sector.

Students, teachers, and members of the community rushed to the GIG’s exhibit to take on four action-packed interactive gold challenges.

30 lucky year 11 students experienced the trip of a lifetime to Northern Star Resources’ Super Pit in June, after winning the Gold Industry Group’s (GIG) Resources Technology Showcase (RTS) competition among 150 other schools.

Woodvale Secondary College students and science teachers flew to Kalgoorlie on 10 June to explore one of the largest gold mines in the world, the famous Super Pit gold mine, and some of the top sights in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

More than 15,000 job seekers descended on the annual SkillsWest Career Expo in Perth earlier this month, where the Gold Industry Group, Newmont Goldcorp Australia, Norton Gold Fields, Macmahon and Ausdrill showcased the sector’s career opportunities.

Held from 16 to 18 August in the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the expo presented a unique opportunity for job seekers to discover current vacancies and career pathways at over 100 exhibiting organisations.
