The Gold Industry Group’s annual diversity events were back bigger than ever in 2022 for Let’s Talk Diversity, as a 250-person strong crowd flocked to the iconic Perth Mint to hear a collection of industry leaders, thinkers, and influencers discuss how gold mining can attract Gen Z to the industry.
The event was the first in a national series which will hit the road later this month in Sydney (November 29) and Melbourne (December 1) as the industry seeks an efficient, skilled, and suitably sized workforce for the future.

The Gold Industry Group is celebrating two years since the launch of its Gold Jobs online hub, attracting 160,000 Australians to the unique one-stop-shop of jobs and career-focused information on Australia’s diverse and thriving gold sector.
The ground-breaking resource has featured thousands of jobs from 16 leading gold companies since its inception, with recruiters turning their focus to targeted online advertising.
As the second largest employer in the mining sector, Australia’s gold industry is a thriving and far-reaching sector that offers a diverse range of jobs from exploration and mining through to community and environment.
And with gold production estimated to rise over the next three years as more mines come online and others expand, the opportunities for employment in gold have never been better.
Third time lucky for the AngloGold Ashanti Australia Lions, who claimed their first championship title defeating the Gold Fields Agnew Turbines at the 2021 Gold Industry Group Corporate Netball Day.
It was an even start as both the Lions and the Turbines battled it out for gold in from of cheering industry colleagues, but the Lions lifted the bar in the second term securing them a seven-goal victory, 14 - 7.

Shooting Stars Year 11 and 12 leaders gave back to the community as part of the annual Senior Leadership Camp program thanks to the support of Premier Partner, the Gold Industry Group.
While on the camp in May, 16 participants identified a small project that would improve their school, their community or Shooting Stars.
This year’s 30th Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum was hailed one of the biggest yet, attracting more than 2500 delegates to hear mining’s growth stories in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, despite having no overseas visitors for the second year running.
Attendance could have been greater at the nation’s largest mining forum with Western Australia having no event restrictions, however due to COVID-19 lockdowns over east preventing many from traveling to the State, several companies presented virtually as thousands streamed the event online.

In its sixteenth year, the 2020 NAIDOC Netball Carnival cemented itself as one of the largest Indigenous sporting events in Australia, with more than 100 teams coming together at the Gold Netball Centre on Sunday 15 November.
