Netball WA Multicultural Carnival
The 7th annual Netball WA Multicultural Carnival welcomed 69 teams from across the State in August at the Gold Netball Centre.
Proudly supported by the Gold Industry Group, the teams represented 22 schools and two clubs and played 150 games throughout the day in 13 divisions from Year 3 to Year 11.
Narrogin Shooting Stars participant Lakkari will receive a team of netball dresses showcasing her design after winning the Gold Industry Group’s NAIDOC competition.
As the Principal Partner of Netball WA, the Gold Industry Group launched a dress design competition at the Netball WA’s NAIDOC Netball Carnival last year which saw Lakkari’s design selected amongst hundreds of entries.
The design used creativity to showcase the importance of Aboriginal culture, gold and netball to the designer.
The Gold Industry Group (GIG) proudly backed the sixth annual Netball WA Multicultural Carnival at the Gold Netball Centre on Friday 28 August, with 97 teams competing.
The gold photo booth was a hit, with players vying for a fun snap before contributing to the #heartofgold world map that showcased their origins. The map revealed more than 40 different nationalities represented on the day.
In 2020, the theme for National Reconciliation Week in Australia is #InThisTogether, and it is with this same spirit the Gold Industry Group is proud to work side by side with netball across Western Australia to improve the lives of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders across the State.
Through various programs and initiatives of Netball WA, West Coast Fever and Shooting Stars, we are driving generational change and equality for female leaders.
The fifth annual Netball WA Multicultural Carnival saw a record 112 teams from across the State come together at the Gold Netball Centre on Friday 30 August.
Proudly supported by the Gold Industry Group, the event catered for those of all skill level and experience, with the carnival boasting 19 divisions.
